| First On-line Urkana Group (Later called the Northern Group) |
||||||||||||
| The first group to adventure in the world of Urkana was a paper and pencil group in Bremerton, Washington. That campaign ran from late 2001 until Geo's departure from Washington in June of 2002. In January of 2002, when Geo was requested to start an on-line game, he elected to use the Urkana setting for that group as well. The campaign started with 4 characters: Durimar, Jack, Laelah, and Machir. They started in the coastal village of Thorngar and had some adventures in and around that village. The group set sail for the ruins of Kesathak to recover an artifact for the clerics of Magnar in Cheweed, mostly to pay for the raising of one of their own. From Kesathak, they were teleported to Tinpick, the jewel of the Highlands. the group managed to get out of Tinpick with their lives and started the long journey home. Along the way, they completed one of Jack's quests, but he managed to get cursed in the process. The party continued on toward Tinpick while dealing with the new complications. As the group passed through Oakhurst and were seeking a solution to Jack's problem, they met Trinity, who would have a significant effect on the group for a long adventure to come. They get Jack to the arch mage in Galliec. He was able to remove the curse, but at a significant cost. It was while the party was trying to refill their coffers that Trinity and Laelah met Teor. As their adventuring continued, it became increasingly evident that Trinity was swayed by Teor's offers. After being confronted as an accomplice in Millhaven's death, Trinity was removed by Teor's forces from the group and placed elsewhere on Urkana. This started the group's major quest: find Trinity and prevent her unborn child from becoming an avatar of Teor. They would travel across the Horesclan Plains, through the mountains, and up the Anorfin Dale, finally reaching the mountain city of Romoka. Eventually, the group reached Trinity. Of the members that had set out from Oakhurst, only 3 remained in the party: Aush, Destion, and Neviath. Some of he others had left, but most had died along the way. The rest of the group that faced Trinity's defenders had joined along the way. With the quest successfully completed, the group went their separate ways, perhaps to rejoin forces one day should another threat arise. |
